What is a ladder league?
A ladder league has rungs of either 4 or 5 players. Each rung is determined by points scored. The highest 4 or 5 scores will be rung 1, the next 4 or 5 will be rung 2. You play 3 or 4 games, depending on the number of players, with each member of the rung. Your score from each game is recorded to determine standings on the ladder.
What if I can’t make it one week?
If you cant make it for any reason it is your responsibility to find a sub.
Is there a list of substitute players?
There will be a list of players not in the league that will be available to fill in if someone cannot make it. Points will be given to the sub not the person that can’t make it.
How is score keeping done?
Each rung of the ladder will have a captain that will keep track of scores and hand them into the league secretary. Scoring will be determined by the number of entries.
The ladder may be configured for any number of points per game. The following example assumes the default of 15 points. Playing percentage is based on the number of points scored divided by the number of points possible (45 for a 3 game match of 15 points per game).
Example: If 42 points were scored out of a possible 45 it would calculate as 42 divided by 45 for a score of 93%
When will I play?
Tuesdays at 6:00pm or 7:30pm depending on where you are on the ladder.
Are there prizes for the winners of the league?
Medals will be given out for each division. You must play in at least 4 weeks to qualify for medals.
What exactly is round robin play?
Round robin play basically means you play everyone in your group a set number of games.
Can you explain how you rotate 5 players, do we rotate by the number assigned for the week?
With a 5 player group one person will have a bye each game.The other 4 players will play with a predetermined partner. you will play a game or two with each member of your group or you will have a bye. The scorecard will have the match ups each game depending on your position in the group.
How many games do we play and do we play with each member of our group?
There will either be 2 games to 8 or 1 game to 15, depending on the time it takes to play. Games and points could change weekly as time adjustments are made.
In reading the rules it says you don’t have to win by 2 points.
The first team to the winning score wins and the scores are recorded at that point.
As the schedule is set each week will individual start times vary?
Start times will vary from week to week depending on where you are positioned on the ladder. If there are time conflicts the ladder manager will try to work with the individual as best we can.
Will you email a list to players with phone numbers/email addresses so we can contact members of our group in case we need to make arrangements to play at a different time or let the others know we won’t be playing and the sub they should expect in our place
The league manager has a list of emails and phone numbers for each player.It hasn’t been determined at this time if those will be handed out or not. If members don’t have an issue with that I will give it to members of each division.
